This Is What Happens When You Fight For What You Believe In

Here's part II of Michael Moore's interview with Wolf Blitzer. (Don't watch it until you've seen part I, posted below) Notice the difference. This is the kind of interview that should have happened in the first place...... but never would have if Mike had not raised his voice, had not been impolite, had allowed himself to be steamrolled the way far too may of us have allowed ourselves to be steamrolled:

A lesson for us all. When the Cro-Magnon Conservative bullies come after you, which they will, stand your ground and punch them in the nose.

I'm a liberal. Got a problem with that bitch?

Mostly, it's true that conservatives don't have to worry about that (a hostile interview on a liberal show)... but then, that's because liberal shows simply don't have any conservatives on them in the first place.

Neither action (a hostile interview or no interview at all) is really all that great; the hostile interview at least gives one a chance.

Yes.....if only Fox News, the most watched cable news network and 4th most popular cable channel overall could be persuaded to have on a conservative guest or two.....

Perhaps the Wall Street Journal, the second largest newspaper in the country with a daily circulation of over 2,000,000 readers, could run an occasional conservative editorial, giving those on the right much needed media exposure.

Your side has noooooooooo trouble getting it's message out. Good luck even FINDING a show as unapologetically left wing as FNC or WSJ are to the right.

Air America? God bless 'em, but I'm betting you'll have to look pretty hard to find your local affiliate.

Democracy Now? Have you even heard of it?

Yet you have the nerve to crybaby that no one listens to you. Sorry pal, it this newstainment environment we don't have a choice but to listen to you.

Yet you got your ass kicked last November. With almost complete control of the media, you still got your ass kicked. Says a lot about the quality of your message. Not to mention your policies.

Thanks for coming by...:)

To be fair... the New York Times has a very large reader base, and it is decidely a left-wing publication.

However, there really is no television news show equally left as Fox News is right. The closest example of a liberal television news show are (sadly) Comedy Central's The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. The sad part is that while they do somewhat deal with the issues, they're comedy shows first and foremost, so you can only take them half seriously.

Read the UK Guardian, In These Times, Mother Jones magazine, listen to Air America and Democracy Now!.... then tell me how liberal The New York Times is.

At best the Times can be described as center-left. Remember how Judith Miller basically published press releases from the Bush administration about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction in the leadup to Gulf War II.

The fact the NYT takes so much heat for being a "liberal" paper actually underscores just how hostile the corpo-newstainment industry in this country is to views from the real left wing.

If you think the Times is a liberal paper, then you haven't read one.

The problem with the truly liberal publications is that they push ideas that the nation (in general) is not ready to hear. However misguided as it may be, those old republican "family values" are looked upon favorably by a lot of people. I know plenty of Republicans that hate Bush, but would vote for another Republican if given a chance simply because they hate the liberal views on marriage, religion, and family.

A lot of conservatives say they hate this war, but they don't hate war in general. They may think Iraq sucks, but they're unwilling to cut our defense budget by a few billion dollars because there's an infinitesimally small chance that we might have to fight a war with China and 2 other countries at the same time. They're also unwilling to waver on the ideas of religion and anti-gay marriage.

The republicans know this. That's why when they run for office they bring out all these bullshit issues and shift the focus from the real problems facing this country. Because democrats know that if they take a firm stance on gay marriage, abortion, or any other non-issue that the republicans dream up, then they won't get elected. That's why truly forward thinking politicians like Denis Kucinich don't stand a chance in elections. The only democrats that get elected are the ones that are center-left (like the New York Times).

The centrist democrats aren't strong enough to enact the necessary changes, so all the country ends up doing is spinning its wheels. A few small policies get enacted, but nothing major gets done.
