Dipping Into The Mailbag And Feeling The Love.

Got this one in response to my last post about Scott S. Reuben, the Massachusetts anesthesiologist who's been faking drug studies for the last 13 years:

Why don't you associate your beloved administration with these issues? Four months ago you had no problem tagging the evil Bush Empire as the cause of all your rants.

Let me guess, this administration needs some time to sort it all out right? Interesting your blog continues the same rant but you disassociate the current administration from having any involvement in the exact same activities as the last.

The anonymous one is right of course. The Obama administration has totally dropped the ball on the obvious solution to this problem. Building a time machine to travel back to 1996 to stop Dr. Reuben at the point where his career went wrong. Call the White House comment line at 202-456-1111 and demand an end to the time machine delay.

More incriminating is the fact that Obama served as a research assistant for Dr. Reuben starting in 1997. If of course by "research assistant" you mean "member of the Illinois State Senate" No one can deny the fact that the best position from which to stop a researcher from making up data is as a member of a state legislative body 1000 miles away. Yeah. This one totally falls on Obama. If he had any sense of responsibility, any desire at all to fix this problem, you'd think he'd be trying to shore up the dysfunctional agency responsible for overseeing the approval of new drugs in this country.

Except he is. To the tune of an extra $1.1 billion to go towards the review of new drugs this year. Which makes this particular hate mail kinda.....bizarre. And to think four years ago I was scared of these right wing fucks. These days....I just kinda feel bad for them, almost like I want to help them come up with an argument that is at least coherent.

Drugmonkey shakes his head and walks away, nostalgic for a time when Republicans were at least smart enough to come up with a lie. Sigh.

I, for one, am elated that a patient admitted this morning now feels comfortable enough with his government that he could state up front he had run out of pot and was using some OTC 99mg tabs instead.
No. Wait.
The intake nurse had simply used an unapproved abbreviation for potassium in her admission note. My bad. It was more interesting the other way.

I love how Obama now takes the blame for absolutely everything in the eyes of the republican. Even stuff where there is not a possible hope of connection. Apparently anytime someone commits a crime or tells a lie, Obama should have been there to prevent it. Stuff like this makes Zombie Jesus cry

Jaysus, I hate politics. Let's see-- the previous president spent something like 70% of his time on vacation prior to 9/11/01, was at the wheel when the only successful terrorist attack on American soil occured, had the lowest approval ratings in history, took a huge budget surplus to record deficits in 4 years, demonstrated that his whole administration was corrupt, venal and beneath contempt... but we can't give the present President more than a hundred days to solve the problems it took eight years to create? C'mon, folks... even if Obama is less effective than Jimmy Friggin Carter he will be an improvement over the moron that stole one election and actually won another one by the slimmest margin in history. Let's get back to pharmacy.... why do PA's think the human eye can hold "3 drops TID"????

I, for one, voted for Obama because I always thought he was the nicest pharmacist at Walgreen's and was impressed with his stories from his research assistant days. Thanks for letting me know he was moonlighting as an Illinois senator..it makes it all doubly impressive.

I found the comment to be hysterical.... not a well-thought out argument, but amusing to those of us *with* a brain :-)

I agree with anonymous. I hate politics. Which, interestingly, is derived from the Greek poly (meaning many) and tics (meaning Blood Sucking Parasites). But seriously, once the Time Machine is complete we can use it to fix any number of past problems. We can't blame Obama for things that happened that long ago. After all, He wasn't even a citizen in 1996, was he?

I heard he still isn't a citizen....

God I hate people who spread lies like that, and the people who are dumb enough to believe them

I'll have to back track to find the post where this starts.

I have liberal friends who are so pissed off at Obama over things as stupid and the fact that the new puppy didn't come from a shelter. The bailout money really pisses them off. Too big to fail? Too Bad.

I keep focused on the things he's doing right, and waiting for the constant crisis to ease up a bit to give him time to correct what isn't working.

How isnt Obama a citizen? I am not from the US so might have the facts wrong or misunderstand how it works, but wasnt he born in Hawaii? And I was told the 14th ammendment or something like that means everyone born in the USA is a citizen of the USA?
