This May Be The Single Gayest Political Commercial In American History. Gay Like Lame, Not Gay Like Homosexual.

I don't know what to say...I really don't.

I mean...is there someone out there who actually thinks this might influence votes?

Or worse yet, someone out there who might actually be influenced by this?

I'm going to go hide now.

This reminds me of bad 90s children's programming.

The guy's son (and the person who wrote, performed and produced the video) does educational programming for children. Here's a quote from him, “As bad as it sounds,” Leigh said, “I bet you remember Mike-Mike-Mike Weinstein.”

He had his son do the ad to attract the "youth" vote. Total fail, in the worst-of-the-'80's-revisited sort of way.

He's right. If i lived in district 19 -- I'd want him to work hard for me. shoot me in the face.

I guess they got the "Hey! Let's do Christian rap, that'll get the kids involved!" people for this hack of a commercial.

I'm embarrassed for him.

WTF was that!

The other fund part of this story is that the guy is running unopposed so he doesn't need any of his campaign funds for real expenditures so he can use them as a slush fund for friends and family.

God, now I need something to cleanse my memory of that godawful video.

It's horrifying enough knowing people were paid to perform in that ad. Even more horrifying is the fact that Mike Weinstein's dumbass campaign paid someone to come up with that ad idea. But the most horrifying part of the whole debacle is the campaign brass actually thought it was a good ad once it was finished and approved disseminating it to the general public!

Just another (painfully funny) indication of exactly how out of touch with reality campaign management types can be (I'm looking at you, Bob Shrum....). Yes, I'm sure that ad will truly help the Weinstein campaign capitalize on the "youth" vote. Even the 80s had better taste.

As lame as this ad is, unfortunately name recognition is HUGE. If nothing else, you will remember the name Mike Weinstein. AND sad to say, on election day, there are those that go into the voting booth, look at the names, and say "Oh yea, I've heard of that guy", and vote for him!

The American political process at it's finest!

Yes, of course it's going to work. If you doubt me, sing this one 20 times:

"You like Ike,
I Like Ike,
Everybody likes Ike (for president)
Hang out the banners,
Beat the drums--
We'll take Ike to Washington
Ike for president
Ike for president
Ike for president...
